There are always opportunities to serve the Lord at Hope Community Church. Being a smaller church, the needs are more visible and people often want to lend a helping hand. Community Life Team One of the functions of the Community Life Team is to meet physical needs of the members and friends of Hope. This may involve a variety of services such as babysitting, taking a meal to a family in need, rides to medical appointments or helping single women with home maintenance jobs. For volunteer information, please email Susan Zimmer at susanezimmer@gmail.com. Set-Up/Take-Down Team This team of people literally creates our worship space every Sunday. Volunteers arrive at Eisenhower Junior High by 8am and transform the school into a church. Each volunteer will be trained and assigned to a rotating team that fits their schedule. Refreshment Team One of the highlights of Sunday morning is a time to meet and greet friends and guests following the worship service. Each week two volunteers bring a snack to go along with the coffee/tea provided by the church. If you would like to showcase your cooking skills or purchase your favorite treat to share with the church, please speak to Susan Zimmer (susanezimmer@gmail.com). 10 Gifts to the Community To celebrate our 10th birthday as a church, we have set a goal to serve the community in 10 different ways during the coming year. Each gift is designed to show the love of Christ, expecting nothing in return. The ideas include a community clean-up day, family movie nights, food drives and more. We will make announcements and begin recruiting volunteers a few weeks prior to each event, or you can speak to Joe Higgins (hopeccil@aol.com) for more information. |
